![]() Lay your guiding hands on me and guide me where you will have me go. Today, I've reflected on your words in Isaiah 51:11. Give me security so that I may walk the right path. Grant me protection from the ills of the world and guide me to safety. I try to resist and live in your word - but I frequently stumble in uncertain times. "Lord, please look after me and grant my prayers for strength.Įvery day, I see sins and temptations around me. Give me strength, and let me live by those words.Īmen." Prayer for protection and guidance Thank you for shaping my path, and thank you for granting me the strength to live your truth.Īs is said in Psalms 25:4–5, "Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are my God my savior, and my hope is in you all day long." When things are dark, I seek your guiding light, and it draws me away from sin. "Heavenly Father, I thank you for everything you give me. My heart is open to your will, and I wish to walk your path for me. ![]() "Holy Spirit, I ask you to guide me through my day today. So to help you connect with Him, we've written six prayers you can use. Instead, He provides us with opportunities to walk His path for us.Īs we see from the story of Saul and the medium (recounted in our Bible meditation "Guidance from the Medium"), God is the only one who can offer us true guidance. Though God is mighty, He can't force us to follow His will. Though you may not know it, He put your loneliness on someone else's heart, and He intends for you to seize the chance for friendship. Instead, we should look to how God guides us every day as signs of His plan for us.įor example, if you feel lonely and receive an unexpected request to help at a church event, God has presented you with an opportunity to connect with others. While God knows His plan for our lives, we don't have access to that information. To receive God's guidance, you must confess your sins, open your heart, and seek the Lord through His word. Though you (hopefully) haven't sinned as David did, you can still learn something crucial here. And through this act, God promised him guidance in Psalms 32:8: "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go I will guide thee with Mine eye." When David came to God, he confessed his transgressions and submitted himself to his Creator. Before submitting to God, David committed the sins of murder and adultery, as he had an affair with Bathsheba and murdered her husband, Uriah. ![]() The story of David also reflects this message. These verses tell us something crucial about God's guiding hand: we only receive it when we submit and trust in Him.
